God gives me whatever me need, but I have to receive and use it with His help, so that,
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Php 4:13 BSB
God will give us whatever it is we need at that moment for whatever it is we are doing through Christ. For example, there were many times when Beckie would have some kind of awful thing happen to her, and I had to remain peaceful, so I could be clear minded, and have the insight of what to do and how to do it. In the beginning of our journey, God was providing the peace, but I was not receiving it. Instead, I would go into a panic. I would get so upset I couldn’t think straight and the hard situation would only get worse. But as I matured, I realized I was not receiving what God was offering. You see Christ will give us strength, His strength, but will we keep trying to do things on our own?
We do not have to jump through hoops or pray the “right” prayers to receive these good things from God. He is more than happy to give them to us, but we must receive them. It is the same as with Salvation. Jesus already died on the Cross for the whole world. Our sins have already been paid for. But will we receive this free gift He has provided? The next time you find yourself in a tough spot, because you will, simply join with Jesus and receive whatever it is you need for the moment. Whether that is love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and the one I think I need most of all, self-control, just receive this Fruit and work with God to use it to better the situation. He gives it to us freely, so receive it.
