Read this verse slowly…and then over again: James 1:25 “But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”
So “the perfect law that gives freedom” is God’s Love. As we seek Him and receive His Love, then imitate it by loving Him as we serve one another in love…by doing what we hear Jesus did… WE are blessed and everyone wins! God is glorified, others around us are blessed and our lives become more and more fulfilling and satisfying. See? Win-win-win!
The Abundant Life is real to us as we let go of that MMI mentality where “me” is the focus of all our thoughts, words and deeds. The less selfish we become, the more abundant life becomes and it is as if we already have Heaven on Earth! And that is what God wanted for us all along.
MMI = “Me, Myself and I,” that prideful, fallen, sinful old selfish person we used to be apart from Christ
