Have you ever thought about all the things we have, all the abilities we possess, and all the people that come into our lives? Did you know that God entrusts us with all of these? Sadly, way too often, God trusts us more than we trust Him. Besides the fact that He so loves us, one of the reasons why God gives us anything is to see what we will do with it all, because what we do or do not do with it all, reveals the state of our nature. Are we working with Him and being transformed, or not. Yet God has confidence in us, as His growing children, that we will learn to use all His blessings, including our talents and gifts, for the purpose which they were given to us. Of course, this requires 1- being His, and 2- maturing in Christ, so we can handle all the blessings. And as we grow, we not only find our vocation, but succeed at it in ways we never thought we could.
As I said last week, we are all born with talents, and if you are born again, then you also have at least one spiritual gift. God is trusting us to find our gifts and use them to build up His Church and Kingdom. Sometimes this is an obvious path. For instance, if we know we love to teach, now we have the gift of insight into God’s Word, so we can quickly start a Bible Study at work or church or in our development. But what if you haven’t yet stepped out in Faith and used your gifts because you still are not sure what they are? Let’s talk about it tomorrow…
