“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2Co 5:17 ESV
The last thing I want us to see is that we can only live this New Creation Life consistently when we are IN Christ. As I said Monday, you must be born again, a member of God’s Forever Family for this verse to apply to you. But once we have surrendered our lives to Jesus, we have to keep our minds focused on Him too, because the connection to Jesus through the Holy Spirit that lives in our New hearts, must be real to us in our thoughts, or it may seem like nothing has changed at all.
Remember God changes us from the inside out. First, deep in the core of who we are, in our spirits, He transforms us from death to Life. Then in our soul- our mind, emotions and will- He continues to transform us from darkness to Light. Then, as He transforms us inside, we begin to act like this New Creation person, more and more, through the way we speak and act as we interact with others around us. We will begin to follow Jesus more and simply love others as much as we can. This inward change is displayed by our outwards deeds. Then we have and enjoy more peace and joy and we are able to share these blessings with others too. Of course, this is what glorifies God, reflecting His Nature instead of our old one that has passed away. See? If you are IN Christ, then you ARE New, right now…keeping our mind focused on Christ, we will keep growing so this New Creation Life shows on the outside, and hopefully, we can draw others into this New Life too.
