“Lord, help me,” is probably the most powerful prayer you and I can pray. Listen again to this wise king:
“Our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
2Chron 20:12 NIV
Surrender. This is what we are supposed to do, with every thought, word and deed. This means we trust that God is Who He says He is. That He loves us more than we will possibly understand this side of Heaven. That He has made The Way for us to be with Him, not only when we leave this world, but here, right now, in every and any situation. That He will never leave us nor forsake us. That all things will work together for our good, because we love God and want to love others in His Name.
What we were always meant to do is to glorify God, this requires surrender. Glorifying God means to reflect Him, and not that sinful MMI. Remember we humans were created in the Image of God. We were supposed to seek Him, trust Him, then obey Him. This is certainly how Jesus lived His life here on earth, and this is what King Jehoshaphat is trying to do here too. He did not want to make a move without God showing him what to do. Surrender leads to submission which leads to obedience. It is obeying God, living life His way, that results in us reflecting Him. Just living our lives to display God and all His Immaculate Character traits. This is what we were created for, my Friends, and the more we live this kind of life, the more abundant ours gets.
