Just Admit It

What an honest prayer:

“Our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” 2Chron 20:12 NIV

How many of us are willing to admit, and in public, that we have no clue what to do in most situations?! “We do not know what to do”! I think it is when we get to this truth in our lives that we can finally surrender to Jesus. This certainly is my story. When Beckie was diagnosed with brain cancer, being a pharmacist, I still “thought” I knew what to do. But after she fell into that first coma, and the doctors had “NADA”…well, then I finally gave up. It was the point in my life when I realized that I did not have the power to face any army, much less this vast one! And to be honest, I still must reach this point today. The moment I just begin to think I have everything under control, is the moment I begin to feel the attack of the real enemy come full force! Thinking that I do not need God’s help opens me up to the enemy’s lies and the assault on my mind can be devastating.

But I hope you notice before I said “I gave UP”? When I did not know what to do for my Baby Girl, I did not give IN to the fear and despair, but rather, I gave Beckie’s situation, and my own life, UP to Jesus. I lifted my heart and placed my trust in our Lord to do that which I simply could not do. And this is when I finally did learn what I was always meant to do…more tomorrow.
