Another simple, but powerful verse, hear it again:
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1Co 13:13 NIV
What does it mean to remain? The dictionary puts it this way: “continue to exist, especially after other similar or related people or things have ceased to exist.” So in other words, even after this world stops existing, these three godly principles will never stop existing. They will be the three virtues that guide our hearts, thoughts, emotions, desires and actions for all Eternity.
Recall the verse from a couple of weeks ago, the one from 2Chronicles 20 where God’s people are encouraged to take their positions, stand firm and watch what God does? The reason those Israelites had their victory…and the reason Beckie and I experienced that miracle too… was because we allowed these three to guide us. We took our positions of Faith in God, stood firm in our Hope of God and watched His Love manifest in our different situations.
