Say this one by heart with me, but please never forget it, because this is the basis for our Freedom!
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are
in Christ Jesus,” Ro 8:1 NIV
In Christ Jesus! We are IN Christ, that is, we have surrender our life to Him as Savior and Lord. Savior is when the Holy Spirit convicts us of something wrong we are doing that does not match up to our Perfect Savior. Lord is when the Holy Spirit compensates for our immaturity and teaches us how to correct that wrong attitude, that leads to the wrong behavior, so that we do match up to our Perfect Lord, more and more. Why does any of this only happen AFTER we are born again? Because until we give our life up to Jesus, we still belong to ourselves and still think we can live a fulfilling, satisfying life on our own. Jesus must be our Savior and Lord, and we must belong to God…or else nothing changes.
So once we are His, we are free from the debilitating shame that causes us to remain in the fallen state we once knew. Instead of being bound by an addiction, we can begin to form new habits that will set us free from it. Instead of having to have the last word all the time, we can learn to hold our tongue and be righteous instead of wanting to be right all the time. Instead of… fill in the blank, my Friends! Instead of acting like WHO we used to BE, we can now begin to act like WHO we were always meant to BE. And as we truly believe this amazing verse, our actions, our DO, will automatically display our WBHO, our New Creation Identity IN Christ.
