If we sincerely believe the Freedom the Father has given us in Christ, then we will become His children, and leave that dead and dying natural man behind.
“Thus it would be a lowly kingdom, not asserting its own interests but observing the agreement so that it would survive.” Ezekiel 17:14 CEB
The carnal man. This is someone who has sincerely surrendered his/her life to Jesus as Savior…but are still struggling with the whole “Lord” thing. That “game of thrones” continues to play on to their detriment. One day they understand Jesus is also the Lord of their lives, meaning He gets to have the final say on the decisions that are made. The next day they have dethroned Jesus and are trying to live the way they used to…I will remind us one last time, we are awful kings and queens!
For the most part, the carnal man still lives by “I think, I feel, I want.” Either they have not been told they must grow up, they are growing but are still very immature, or they are just acting stubborn and rebellious. The major problem though is that these sincere Christians do not act any different than the rest of the world. They impulsively react to situations around them, instead of turning to God so they can respond in love and grace. They may even begin to be deceived by the philosophies of this world because they are still living for their own lowly kingdom. They too try to “assert their own interests” instead of seeking and submitting to the agreement they received. Covenant. That is what the word means. Let’s wrap it up tomorrow…
