Taking the Next Step

Now that you belong to Jesus, what’s next? Remember this gift:

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Eze 36:26 NIV

Once we become saved, born again, regenerated from death to Life, we have been given a new spirit. That old, dead, MMI spirit is gone…remember 2Co 5:17? We become like tiny newborn babies who have to learn how to live and maneuver through this life. That takes growth, right? That takes time, effort and lots and lots of learning…that also means lots and lots of mistakes. One thing we must understand is that we are still not perfect in our soul or body. Now that our spirit is finally alive to all that is good and selfless, now that we are connected to God, the Giver of Life, we have to retrain our brain, and learn to respond instead of react. Hey, I’ve been at this for over 22 years now, and often, it seems like I am only scratching the surface of this beautiful Sanctification!

It is a process, have I said that enough times too? It is important for us to understand that because we must give ourselves, and each other, lots and lots of mercy. No one is going to get it all right, all the time. As the Father has told me on many occasions, “Child, I am not looking for perfection. I have already found that in My one and only Begotten Son! What I am looking for is someone who will keep on keeping on.” You and I, my Friends, are works in progress…our part is to make sure we are connecting with God daily, and moment to moment even, so that we are progressing and not regressing! But no pressure. God has an amazing way of drawing us back to Him even if we have strayed. Just learn to love Him, the rest will come.
