Where we humans went wrong, Jesus went right! As I wrote yesterday, Adam and Eve and each of us since then, have allowed the Enemy to sow seeds of doubt into our hearts which have caused us to question God’s motives for the commands that He has given us in His Holy Word. The moment we question His Integrity, is the moment we turn from God and the Life only He can give. BUT GOD! We are NOT a surprise to Him. He knew what He created, that we would go off on our own and depart from His Holy Will…this is NO excuse, but a clear example of just HOW Merciful our Creator is!
Since He knew we would disobey and allow sin into this world and into our own hearts, He already had a Plan to redeem us. JESUS! The Father sent His one and only Begotten Son to do what we humans just could not, and would not, do trust and obey the Father. Follow all His Commandments, most especially to love one another…and He did so all the way to the Cross, to the Grave, and back again from Death in His glorious Resurrection. Jesus lived by, what I call, the Gethsemane Moment, where He ALWAYS said, “Not My will be done, but Yours, Father.” And as we grow in Christ, we will imitate that life-giving decision too, more and more.
