I just heard this saying and it’s so good, I have to share it: “All means all and that’s all all means”! Listen to this verse again:
“And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.” Ro 8:28 BSB
So how many things are we talking about here?! All things. God does not just work together all the good things. He works it ALL together…the good, the bad and the ugly. Can anything be more ugly than childhood cancer? Yet, God is still working everything, Beckie and our family went through, all of it, together for our good! You see, this life is corrupted. This world is fallen. We humans are broken. Sin is real here and it messes everything up…but God! For we know, He is working it ALL together for good. No, not every single, individual thing is good, but God is working it all together for good.
I heard this simple story a long time ago that helps us make sense of this: a mom was teaching her daughter this very thing when she asked her, “Would you like to eat some white flour? How about some baking soda or maybe some raw eggs?” The daughter quickly responded, “Yuck, Mom, that’s gross! I don’t want any of that!” Then the Mom said, “Well, what if I mix some sugar and milk in it too… and then put it all in the oven for a while? Would you like to eat some of the cake that comes out of all those ingredients?” Are we getting the point, my Friends? God is not done yet…as they say, never put a period where God puts a comma. He is now, currently, still working it all together for good…but is this for every person? Leave your thoughts below and we will continue tomorrow…
