“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2Co 5:17 ESV
Another beautiful word in this verse is “anyone.” God’s Love and blessings are available for anyone who is in Christ. There are no special Christians who get to have a deep relationship with God, while others cannot. As with much in this life, we get out of it what we put into it. So if you spend a lot of time with God, through reading the Bible, participating in church, or listening to Christian music, for instance, you will have a deeper connection with God. If you only think about God once a week, for about an hour or so, then move on thinking this life is still yours, then you won’t have a deep relationship with God. It is not complicated to understand, right? The more time, energy and resources we invest in knowing God, the more of this New Creation Life we will sense and experience. “Anyone” can have as deep a friendship with our Creator as they want to…key is to “want to”! We need to develop this connection was much as humanly possible.
Anyone! That means anyone, at any time, can surrender their lives to Jesus as Savior and become a New Creation! Talk about being inclusive! No one is too far gone, that God cannot reach us. No one is such an outcast, that God stops caring about us. No one is beyond His power to draw us to His side and begin to change us from the inside out. Anyone can come, at any point in time, and become a New Creation in Christ. I am so grateful that I am an “Anyone”!
