Proclaim this verse with me by heart today:
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder.” Jas 2:19 NIV
The devil and his demons refuse to follow Jesus although they certainly believe He is who He says He is. Notice in the Gospels how the demons never questioned who Jesus was. They actually would be the first to call Him the Son of God, so they recognized Him, as well as His authority…they had no choice but to obey Him, but they definitely would not choose to follow Him.
Unity or separation. Which do you think leads to Life versus death? Life is all about being one with God, others and creation itself. Death is all about wanting to do your own thing, and not thinking about what is best for God, others or this earth God has given us. Separation. Divide and conquer. This is the enemy’s way…but the believer’s way should be to follow Jesus who leads us into unity and Life.
This is the difference between someone who is truly sold out for Jesus and those who are only tinkering with the idea. They have good intentions to follow Jesus, but the truth is, intentions don’t bless anyone. It is only when we act on these good plans that everyone wins. God is glorified, others are blessed and we ourselves, sense a more rich and fulfilling life. My Friends, if you are a believer, won’t you choose today to make sure you are a follower too?
