No fear, and no discouragement either, because both of these can lead us down the wrong paths. Hear God’s great message again:
“Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2Chron 20:15b NIV
According to the dictionary, discouraged means “to deprive of courage, hope, or confidence; to dishearten; to dispirit”…and this is a huge part of our real enemy’s tactics, especially towards the people of God. The last thing he wants is for us to act courageously based on our Hope in God! We just might cause him some trouble in his kingdom of darkness, after all! He wants us to lose heart, to let our spirit die inside of us, this way we lack any power to fight the good fight of Faith.
But in Christ, this is what we should be doing, my Friends! Bringing trouble to the enemy and his vast army is what we do as we choose to walk in Faith. Never forget, this enemy is a defeated enemy…we just celebrated the Resurrection where Jesus won the war against sin, death and Satan, right? Now we can choose to lean on the Holy Spirit and fight every battle that comes our way confidently, knowing that this enemy does not have any power against us anymore. Knowing that we never fight alone is a big part of experiencing these victories in Christ. So take heart and be courageous, Jesus has won the war!
