Here’s this famous verse again:
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Php 4:13 BSB
How many things can we do? One or two things? Only the things I am familiar with? No! ALL things. Even when we have no clue what we are doing…I point you again to my list from yesterday! But again, I caution us here. Paul is NOT saying all things that WE want to do. That WE think is right. That WE feel like doing. No. Remember this New Life is centered on God and His Will for us. So this “all things” is tied into God’s Plan for our lives. It requires we pray and seek His guidance. It insists we take into consideration the needs of others ahead of our own. It means we are not living by MMI.
As we grow, we learn not to step out of His Timing, as well as His Will. If we do the right thing at the wrong time, it’s still wrong. Timing matters. God gave me an excellent example of how we are supposed to live this New Life attached to Him that makes so much sense. It helps me understand life better when things go wrong, as well as praise Him more deeply when they are going smoothly. I will share the image with you tomorrow…
