Do You Need to be Committed?

I’m challenging everyone I come into contact with this year to read your Bible! It is a simple commitment we can make to our God Who has committed everything so we could be in relationship with Him.

Think of our relationship with Jesus as a marriage. We talked about this before here:

The moment we say, “I do,” and exchange rings, we ARE married to our spouse. When a man and woman get married, it takes time, effort, love, compassion and so on to become one…even though instantly they are one.

Jesus said, “I do,” even before you heard of Him…on the Cross, He proclaimed, “I love you too much to not make The Way for you to know and love Me.” And so He sacrificed it all, taking the risk that people would still not turn to Him and return His love. But if you have surrendered to His amazing Grace, if you have returned the vows and said, “I do,” becoming born again, one with Christ forevermore, then you have made His risk worth the while.

By receiving His love, you have become His Bride. You have exchanged “rings.” He has taken your sinfulness and given you His Righteousness. You ARE married to Christ, Church, it is high time we show Him our love…and it has to start by committing to read His Word so we can know Who He is, how He loves us, what He desires from us, how to love others in His Name and so on and so on, we need to read the Bible so we can know how to live this New Abundant Life with Him, as one. Read your Bible!

Lesson: show your commitment to our Lord, by making a commitment to read your Bible
