Everywhere You Go

We can fight all three enemies, and have victory over each one, because Jesus is with us. Listen:

Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2Chron 20:15b NIV

Our three enemies: 1- the devil and his demons, 2- this fallen, corrupted world system and 3- who is it? MMI! Our old sinful person with this Flesh filled with Pride continues to try to be our lord. It tries to remain in charge of our lives by pulling us back to our old stinking thinking. It tries to make us lose control of over irrational emotions. And it tries to convince us that we must still live by our will, instead of God’s! Ahh, but as we grow in Christ, we lean on His power and can choose to say “No!” to all those old ways. Then we actually live in the Freedom Jesus won for us on that Cross! Thank You, Lord!

This is a tough enemy and why is it so hard to fight this enemy? Because everywhere you go, there you are! We can never be apart from ourselves…but in Christ, we can begin to live in such a way that our “Self” will not trip us up anymore! As we mature, we allow God to renew our minds so we can think more and more like Him. Once we change our thoughts, we will be able to control our emotions. And once we control our emotions, we will desire the things God desires for us too. Then we are no longer living by this old enemy, but by Faith in Christ Jesus.

One great way to continue to defeat these enemies is to remember that, yes Jesus has already won the war, but moreover, ultimately, the battle is not ours either…more tomorrow
