What is our first reaction to a challenge? This is important because it shows us how mature we are, where our perspective still lies more powerfully. If my eyes are still focused on “MMI,” then it is natural to get upset and panic whenever we face a trial.
But if we are growing in Christ, then we learn to take a moment and consult with Him BEFORE we react. With our perspective grounded in God, we can begin to see how everything that happens- good, bad and ugly- is not meant to destroy us, and we can maintain our peace as we work with Him to move through the trial.
Keeping our eyes below on ourselves, will cause us more problems. Lifting our eyes above, will keep us peaceful, even in the midst of the trial. Perspective is OUR choice…
