Indescribable Gift

Promises from God make life’s hardships, less hard:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Mt 5:4 NIV

Death is real and is really painful and so we mourn. But we can also receive God’s comfort as we mourn because death does not have the final answer. Or in other words, Romans 8:28. Listen again to this powerful verse:

“And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.”

Talk about working things together for our good! Death transformed into life? For those of us who are sincerely born again, do we really get what god has worked together here? We were dead and dying! And now, because of the love of the Father, the sacrifice of the Son and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we are alive and coming to eternal life! I really don’t think we do get it, because if we did, we would be talking about this amazing miracle of miracles every single day, with every single person we encounter. Yet do we?

Only God can work together the most awful, painful, humiliating, devastating thing and make it pure love. And because He has, we can mourn and be comforted, all at the same time. Please, oh please sit and think about this indescribable gift today…then don’t stop there! Go share it with someone, anyone, and let God work it together.
