It’s Killing Me

Pray by heart today, my Friends:

“Our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

2Chron 20:12 NIV

We have no power…until we surrender to Jesus, that is! Then we have the Resurrection Power living on the inside of us! If we choose to, we can overcome whatever comes our way. This doesn’t mean everything will work out the way you and I want it to, but it does mean we will be better off because of what we are going through. It is when we allow these hardships to kill us…to kill our Flesh, that is, that MMI fallen nature that operates from a place of selfish Pride, that we are transformed more and more into the image of God….hey wait, that’s the original image God created us to be, right? As we become more and more like Him, then we can do what we were meant to do, glorify Him, reflect his Character, magnify His Love, Grace, Mercy, Forgiveness, Kindness and so on and so on. Then it almost doesn’t matter what happens around us. Why? Because it will not affect us in negative ways. We will, like the great James says, count it all joy when we meet trials of various kinds. (Jas 1:2) Ok, maybe not immediately, but as we grow, we will return to that sweet place of peace and joy, sooner rather than later.

I confess I have been going through a lot of darkness lately. But by God’s Grace, I am turning from it, and returning to God and finding this truth. God loves me, so if He is allowing “stuff” then it is meant for my good. As I choose to work with Him, instead of fighting or hiding from Him as is my fallen way, the peace and joy return to my heart and I can make the right decisions to live my life abundantly.

Hey, no where in the Bible does it proclaim this life will be easy, but God does promise He will be in it with us, right by our side. Our job is simply to remember that, to put our eyes on Him and surrender. It really does change everything, because even if nothing changes, God makes all the difference!
