My Feet

With the Lamp of God’s Word bringing clarity to our inner condition, we can begin to walk in His Will more consistently.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Ps 119:105 ESV

To walk in God’s Will, means to obey His Plan for our lives. Sometimes we children of God think we know where He is leading us, but if we step out ahead of Him, we can get ourselves into all sorts of trouble. Thus the Bible is a Lamp to our Feet. In order to safely walk a long journey, we must be able to see every step along the way, right? We do not need to see the whole excursion, but just the next step, then the next one, and then the next…you get the idea, right? This takes a whole lot of Faith, my Friends. Scripture has a way of making our current condition and situations clearer to us so we can continue to walk this life.

Our current condition is an inward issue. How much are we growing in the Grace and Love of Christ? Are we beginning to display the Fruit of the Spirit, more and more? Are our thoughts turning to God more, and quicker too? Are we in greater control over our emotions? Are we seeking what God wants before running head first with what we want instead? The more we allow the Bible to be the Lamp to our feet, the more we will know how far we have come from where we used to be, and be encouraged to continue moving towards who we will be.

Our current situations are largely based on this inner condition. While we do not always have control over what is going on around us…ok, we rarely have control over what is going on a round us! But with God’s help, we always can have control over how we respond to what is going on around us. This is what the Bible does. It gives us clarity about where our feet are right here, right now, and as we hold on to His peace, we can stay calm as we plan to take that next step.
