Choices. God is pleased to allow us to make all sorts of choices. And the fourth way He answers our prayers, is the fourth way we can choose to answer His call: different. Since God sees life from the viewpoint of Eternity, whereas we only dimly see life from out tiny perspective, the way He chooses to answer our prayers is always for our best.
But when we choose to answer God’s call by saying, “Yes, but MY WAY,” it often leads to more problems than was necessary. Not sure? Go read the story about how Abraham and Sarah tried to “answer” God’s call of having children (Gen 16)…or for that matter, just read the Book of Jonah. Our way is short-sighted, just like we are, and often causes situations we would rather not have experienced. But once again, praise God Who works it all together for our good. Yet, let us continue to grow and learn to trust God and His Way by continuing to always answer direct…because His Way IS the High-Way!
How God answers our prayers:
1- Direct: “Yes, here you go. Trust Me.”
2- Deny: “No, that’s not what is best for you. Trust My Plan.”
3- Delay: “Yes, but you’re not ready yet. Trust My Timing.”
4- Different: “Yes, but not the way you expected. Trust My Way.”
How we answer God’s calls:
1- Direct: “Yes Father, here I am to gladly obey. I trust You.”
2- Deny: “No Father, I refuse to obey. I trust my own plan.”
3- Delay: “Yes Father, but not right now. I trust my own timing.”
4- Different: “Yes Father, but according to my understanding. I trust my way.”
