Balanced Parenting is the next “ripple” and what greater purpose is there than to help the next generation become good people who love God with all they’ve got and love their neighbor as they love themselves. To be able to influence those who will become tomorrow’s leaders is both an honor and a big responsibility. Of course, just because we are parents certainly does not mean we will parent perfectly. But this area in our lives is not about being perfect…it is about teaching our children that there is only One Who is Perfect and that He loves us so much, that no matter what we have done or not done in our lives, He will receive us, accept us and fill our lives with His Mercy and Grace.
Once again, it is vitally important that the entire Church understands what God says about being a parent. So even if you do not have a biological child, there are so many opportunities for you to mentor another child who needs to know he or she is loved no matter what has happened to them. Also, you can be the loving hand that helps other parents who need the Wisdom God gives about how to be as good a parent as they possibly can be.
While we get to learn from the greatest Father of all, it is critical that we know for ourselves, and share with others, that even when we mess up, our loving God will work all things together for our good and that of our children.
