Say our verse to remember from Mt 5:4 with me by heart today:
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Mt 5:4 NIV
As we discussed yesterday, one of two destinies await every human being when we leave this world. And it is only IN this world where we each get to choose which destiny will be ours. In the End of Time as we know it, every spirit will be raised, but to where depends on how you have answered this question posed by Jesus, Himself, in Mt 16:15
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
I can talk to you about who my Jesus is until He comes back, but that will not help you a lick until YOU, yourself, answer this question. If you come to the same conclusion as I have, that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, that Jesus is my only Hope of Heaven, that Jesus the One who has paid the price for my sin, that Jesus is the One who loves me more than I can ever understand, that a Jesus is the One who continually forgives me, and that Jesus is the One who will always comfort me…if you come to this same conclusion, then won’t you surrender your life to Him as Lord and Savior if you never have before? The truth is, your life has never been yours anyway.
When we do finally acknowledge and respect His authority over our lives, yes, we will still mourn…but when we weep, we will cry with Hope because, this side of Heaven is not the end of the story. We will be united with the rest of the saints who have made the same conclusion we have, they were desperate for The Savior and surrender to His as Lord. I know I will be with my Baby Girl again…and now I feel assurance that I will see my Dad again, as well. Our goodbyes are more like “until we meet again.” Will I still cry? Yes, but it is nowhere as devastating as it could have been apart from Christ. I will leave you with this powerful verse from 1Co 15:55
“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
Please keep my family in prayer this week, especially my Mom, and I will pray for you and yours as well!
