Please let this verse make you more aware of your words, as we say it together by heart:
“Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Pr 18:21 BSB
Hi Friends, Diane here. The key to all this, and every other area of life of course, is connecting with God Who is Life. The more we grow, the more sensitive we become to the leading of the Holy Spirit. He will nudge our hearts when we are starting to think about death instead of life. He will help us drop the negative and start speaking the positive. He will help us become more and more aware of anything that is not consistent with what God has already said about us, others and life in general. The pressure is never on our tiny shoulders, my Friends. The more we connect with God Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life, the more we will notice anything that is opposite.
This story might help us understand: to teach bank tellers how to spot counterfeits, they are trained to know legitimate bills. The more they know the correct money, the quicker they can spot the false ones. The focus is on the true bills, not the forged ones. So the more you and I focus on knowing God and WHO we are in Him, the quicker we will be aware that a negative thought is trying to infiltrate our minds. Like these bankers, we will refuse to accept the counterfeit. Then we will not think nor speak those negative words either, and we will only have nourishing fruit for ourselves and others. Know WHO you are because of Whose you are, and everything else will stem from this truth.
