Our Wonderful Roots

Our Good Gardener prepares the soil for the best outcome of growth and health for the Roots, Vine, branches and Fruit.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” Jn 15:5 NIV

Once the Father said, “Let there be light,” He set into motion everything else that would ever happen on this planet. It is the Holy Spirit that connects the Father to every other child of God that will ever live, this includes Jesus, our Vine. Just like the roots of a tree hold the Vine steady in the soil, so too, the Holy Spirit fastened Jesus to the Father so that He would know, and choose to obey, the Father’s Will over His Human desires with every thought, word and deed. We too seldom talk about the Holy Spirit, but it is this third Person of the Holy Trinity that keeps us attached to the Father and the Son so that we can live the Abundant Life. He counsels us. He comforts us. He rebukes us. He leads us into all Truth, and as we grow in our own spirit, He helps us implement that Truth for our benefit and the good of all those around us, as well as for the Father’s and Son’s glory.

The Holy Spirit keeps us grounded so that we do not tumble over when the winds of life start blowing fiercely. The Holy Spirit stirs our heart to want to know God, so that we can learn WHO we are because of Whose we are. The Holy Spirit gives us access to the weapons we need to fight the good fight; things like our breastplate of righteousness, our shield of Faith and our helmet of Salvation. (please see Eph 6:10-20) It is the Holy Spirit, Who is our Roots, Who absorbs the nutrients that feed the Vine, that empower the branches to grow and bear Fruit. Without the Good Gardener Who makes sure the soil is rich and without the Roots Who keeps all good things flowing, there would be no Vine, no branches and no fruit.
