One of the amazing things God has done for me is give me this peace that surpasses understanding. For example, as my daughter, Beckie, was falling into what would turn out to be her first coma, the doctors and nurses were running back and forth, in and out of her room, trying to get a handle on the dangerous crisis, yet I physically felt this indescribable peace. Deep in my heart, I knew she was going to survive this emergency. I knew God was with her, so I had no fear, my entire being- body, soul and spirit- were completely relaxed.
After the whole episode was over, a nurse came to me and said, “I started to panic and didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing, until I looked over at you and saw how peaceful you were! Because you were completely relaxed, it helped me to come to my senses and do what I was trained to do to help your daughter.” You see this peace Jesus gives is not only for ourselves, but it overflows into the lives of those around us too.
