As the saying goes, the Good News is so very good, because the bad news is so very bad.
“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isa 53:6 NIV
Like gravity, sin continues to pull us downward into going astray and turning to our own ways…and those three enemies only add to this problem! But God! Oh has there ever been two more powerful words than those?! But God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Begotten Son…and why did He give us Jesus? Because you and I could never do what He did. Only the Spotless Lamb of God could take upon His Immaculate shoulders all the sin of the sheep, and pay the eternal price for The Downfall of Humanity. Again, the bad news is that sin still has the power to push us down, but praise God, Jesus can, and wants to, lift us up.
God knows what He created in us, children who think they know better than the Father, and so He knew He would have to lay upon His Perfect Son all of our immorality. The weight of sin is no longer upon us, but was put upon Jesus. Only He can clean, and continue to clean us up, because only He remained clean His whole life here. Never having sinned, although tested, Jesus could carry sin to its death and now carries us up that mountain towards holiness. He will lead us, it is what He desires to do, but He will not force us.
