What Was Always Meant To Be

Now we come to the climax of our financial life, where we are completely out of debt, have a good Emergency Fund in place and have built a nice amount of wealth where we can provide for our loved ones and give generously to whatever God places before us. Mr Ramsey usually puts it this way, “We need to live like no one else, so that later, we can live, and give, like no one else.” After making the necessary sacrifices to get all our ducks in a row, after living counter culturally and being weird, we now can relax about money and seek those we can be a blessing towards. This is God’s intent: to bless us so we may enjoy life and then go out and be a blessing to others. That is actually a big part of how we can enjoy this life. To be someone else’s miracle is as close to being like God that we can get. When we are no longer stressed out about our own finances, we can live for God’s Glory by being His hands and feet, going about doing good, just Like Jesus did. (see Ac 10:38)

Of course, we do not need to, nor should we, wait until we are financially set before we begin living a generous life. I hope you have noticed how “giving” is actually the first line item in Mr Ramsey’s budget form. We should never wait to begin a life of generosity. There is always something we can give to every person God places before us. We can lend an ear and just listen, without judgement, to the woes of a friend. We can give others a smile or hug to let them know they are not alone. When asked, we can offer godly advice about all aspects of life. And certainly we must place every person in the arms of Christ through prayer and supplication. Please don’t discount these generous gestures. God has given each human being time, talents and treasures. We are to use all of them to be blessed and to be a blessing. This is the life we were created to live. It makes our own fulfilling, purposeful and abundant. So let’s get our act together so that we may be there for others to the Glory of God!
