Say it by heart with me today:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1Pe 5:7 NIV
Do I want God to fix the problems around me or do I want Him to transform the spirit within me? It is a question I have been asking myself a lot lately. As I said yesterday, circumstances won’t last, but who I am will live on forevermore. As we grow in Christ, we begin to live more and more for Eternity rather than this temporary world. We become more and more concerned with our character than our comforts. We focus more and more on God’s Kingdom than our own.
With our eyes on Him, we will be able to be aware of whatever does not align with His plan for our lives. That includes anxieties. We will choose to pray, connecting and trusting God more often, than trying to lean on our own understanding and staying in that state of worry. And we will be more willing to obey Him, whatever way He leads. This means learning to be ok even if things do not change. No one is saying this is easy. But the more we understand how deeply He cares for us, the more simple it becomes to cast our anxiety on Him…and the freer we become!
