Focus on Your Focus

Our Beliefs influence our Thoughts which affect our Emotions which inspire our Will which directs our Actions which give us Results. This is what I call the  “Cascade of Life,” and in an ideal world, this is how Life is supposed to flow, to us, then through us. But of course we do not live in an ideal world, do we? So when we think about the soul part of this cascade- the Thoughts, Emotions and Will- we need to understand that there exists a fluidity where each one can change the next one. For instance, our Emotions can affect our Thoughts and our Will can inspire our Emotions. The flow in our soul is not only one way, but rather fluid. Like the Holy Trinity, it flows in and out of one another, weaving through each part. The key is to understand the power of our soul.

Our soul does have so much power, but whether it helps us or hurts us depends on where our focus happens to be. If we are being self-centered, then we can be led down paths we don’t want to go down, nor were we ever meant to go down them. If we are being God-centered, then we can receive God’s help to renew our minds, so we will think like Him more and more. We can be empowered by Him to control our emotions, so that they do not drive us towards problems, but instead towards solutions. And we can lean on God to align our will to His so that we can have, enjoy and share the Abundant Life to a higher degree.

Anyone who has suffered with any type of mental and emotional issues knows how devastating the soul can become…but praise God, with Him, there is always Hope! Focus on your focus, and you can go from dark despair to the bright joy waiting for you in the arms of Christ.
