Here’s another helpful verse from the story in 2Chronicles 20. This week, let’s memorize verse 12.
“Our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
2Chron 20:12 NIV
King Jehoshaphat continues seeking the Lord by praying out loud, in front of the whole nation of Judah. Imagine if our President would…well, anyway…. It is impressive how humble and vulnerable and honest this king is. Jehoshaphat has no problem with asking for God to judge their enemies, but he also has no problem with saying something that you and I each should confess daily either. What’s that? We will talk about that this week, but for now, let’s marvel at his openness to seek God, and to seek Him in front of his whole world. Now that’s a true leader! Then let’s ask ourselves, are we willing to do the same? It is Time for all God’s people, everywhere to join together and humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn away from our wickedness…oh wait that’s a different 2Chronicles verse…I am sure we will get to it at a later time. More on this one tomorrow…
