The Amazing Conclusion

So after the third night of me collecting trash that others had left behind, I finally brought this curious situation to God. I prayed to our Lord and said, “Jesus, I know there is a point and purpose to everything You move me to do, so please tell me why You are having me clean up all that garbage every night.” There are so many lessons we can learn here, of course, but what He said in response was powerful. He said, “Everywhere you travel in life, Child, I want you to leave it cleaner because you have passed through it.” I will give you a moment to absorb that!

This was my very first major lesson on my journey of Sanctification, and it still speaks to me now. My Friends, whether we are talking about the physical environment around us or the heart of someone you “just happen” to meet, as God’s beloved, holy children, you and I are suppose to leave things better than they were before we got there. This is what God does and we are supposed to be imitating Him, right? That’s the whole point to growing in Christ, to be more and more like Him. And to do whatever it is He tells us to do to bring a taste of Heaven down to this fallen and broken world, and so lessening the darkness, the brokenness, the filthiness around us, leaving this world better because you and I were here.
