Because we belong to God, we can overcome anything that comes our way…because He is greater.
“You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 1Jn 4:4 BSB
Hi Friends, Diane here. As I said Monday, God and His Love is bigger and greater than all things, seen and unseen, and all put together! Do we believe this? Because if we do, it can change our lives! The quality of our lives should exponentially increase the more we allow this truth to penetrate our hearts and minds. Why? Because if God really is greater, then what do you and I have to fear? We can choose to have peace, when the world is in complete turmoil. We can choose to have joy, when the difficulties of life present themselves. We can choose to remain righteous in the Holy Spirit, when others tempt us to go down a wrong path. We can, because God is greater than this world, difficulties and all others who try to influence us for evil. We have the power to say NO and the authority to do what God would have us do instead.
Wednesday marked two full years of me making these “Got A Minute?” videos and posting them every single day. Sometimes as I write, teach and speak about the Bible, I can feel this slimy voice in my head saying, “Who do you think you are talking about the Bible? What gives you the right to say the things you are saying?” But by God’s Grace, I have learned to simply respond, with gratitude towards God, saying something like, “Thank You, Lord, that I am a child of God and that You continue to guide my understanding of Your Word and grant me the ability to share it with others.” (Jn 1:12; Jn 16:13; 1Pe 3:15) Period. Note: I do not react to the provoking voice, but I turn to God, in thanksgiving, and declare what He has said about me. Next time you hear this voice too, because you will, turn to God Who is greater than all those lying tongues, and recite His Word back to Him, with gratitude filling and overflowing from your heart because you belong to the Greater One.
