The Greatest Book Ever!

So did you guess what my most favorite book is? The one that has given me endless encouragement, sustaining comfort, life changing wisdom? Yes, of course, I am talking about the Bible. God’s Word, whether written or Incarnate, is the only Source of power that can grant real and Everlasting Life. Scripture is filled with the truth that can resurrect any part of our lives that are dead, useless and just not working. When we attempt to live by our own limited understanding, we do not sense any steady and consistent peace and joy which is what we all crave. We do not feel like we are loved for who we are, and continually try to earn the love we desire. We do not discern what is really beneficial for us and those around us, so we make some poor choices and develop some bad habits. My Friends, we need Someone Who is not like us to lead us towards the Abundant Life that will truly fulfill us. For this we need to get to know the One Who created it all. This is the whole purpose of the Bible, to reveal our God and Creator. To teach us we have gone completely off course, and to lead us to the only one Who can get us back to where we should always have been. God’s Word is Life and we would be very prudent to make the reading, studying and applying of the Bible one of our major goals in life.

I’d like to share some resources to getting to know God’s Word more intimately, that I have developed. The first is by book “Around the Bible in 90 Days.” In each chapter, you will see a challenging Bible reading plan, a summary of each day’s chapters from that plan, as well as a lesson or two you can apply to your life. You can read it as a devotional. You can go through the summaries only to get a nice overview of Scripture. Or you can go at your own pace and use the lessons to help you grow spiritually and stronger in Christ. It took a real commitment to read the entire Bible in such a short period of time, but I tell you what, it all was so much more cohesive and flowed so well from one Book to the next. I was really blessed by the project and interaction I experienced with God through His Word, and I know you will too.

The next are my Weekly Encouragement articles. Last year, we traveled through the Gospel of Matthew, where I was able to weave the other Gospels in as well, to experience the incredible Life of our Lord Jesus. This year I will be doing the same with the Book of Genesis. The links are all below, but I do hope you will subscribe at my website so that I can send you all these resources right to your inbox. For the rest of January, we will discuss an overview of God’s Word, trying to hit on some important, exciting and helpful events and tie it all back to our Lord and Savior.
